Quick Lesson: How to Make a Bitmap Tiff

Watch this quick lesson from the Illustrator Artistry course. Here’s summary of the steps in the video:

  1. Open a texture image in PS.

  2. Make edits, i.e., cropping, erasing pixels, adding contrast, etc.

  3. Change to the grayscale mode by choosing Image > Mode > Grayscale. (This will flatten layers and discard color information.)

  4. Change to Bitmap mode, Image > Mode > Bitmap...

  5. Choose a resolution and dithering method.

  6. Choose File > Save As..., choose Tiff and LZW compression to save file size.
